Preparation steps

Prepare the ingredients — Cut the bacon into thin strips. Chop the garlic. Lightly whip the eggs with a fork and mix with half of the Parmesan cheese. ⏱ 5 min. Guide: Cut the bacon into even strips 0.5 cm wide.

Cooking the pasta — Boil 2 litres of salted water. Cook the spaghetti until al dente according to the instructions on the packet. Reserve 100 ml of the pasta water. ⏱ 10 mins. Guide: The pasta should be firm in the centre and slightly springy.

Frying the bacon — Fry the bacon in a pan without oil until golden brown. Add the garlic and fry for 1 minute. ⏱ 5 min. Guideline: The bacon should be crispy around the edges and the garlic should be fragrant.

Making the sauce — Pour the cream into the bacon and heat over medium heat. Do not boil. Remove from heat. ⏱ 3 min. Guideline: The cream should be warm but not boiling.

Combining — Drain the pasta and add it to the pan with the cream and bacon mixture. Pour in the egg mixture and stir quickly. Add water from the pasta to achieve the desired consistency. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and pepper. ⏱ 2 min. Guideline: The sauce should be creamy and coat each piece of pasta.
