Despite their simplicity, they always get compliments for the juicy fillet wrapped in a golden crust. Forget deep fryers and excess oil — our recipe allows you to get excellent nuggets by simple baking. And also — if desired, you can add cheese, paprika, or even your secret ingredient to the breading. These nuggets will become your favorite dish when you need a quick and delicious lunch for the whole family. And don't say we didn't warn you that they disappear in no time!

Preparation steps

Preparing fillet — Wash the chicken fillet, remove excess fat. Cut into small, as uniform as possible pieces. Time: 10 min. Guide: Pieces approximately 5-6 cm by 3-4 cm.

Marinating — Place the sliced fillet in a bowl, pour kefir over it, add mustard, a bit of salt and pepper. Leave for 15-20 minutes. Time: 20 min. Guide: The fillet is fully soaked in kefir.

Preparing breading — Crack the eggs into a plate, whisk with a fork. In a separate plate, mix breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and paprika. On a third plate, scatter flour. Time: 5 min. Guide: Three separate dishes ready for breading.

Breading — flour — Take each piece of fillet out of the kefir, coat in flour on all sides. Time: 5 min. Guide: The whole piece is covered with a thin layer of flour.

Breading — egg — Gently dip the flour-coated piece in beaten egg, remove and let the excess drain. Time: 3 min. Guide: The piece is evenly coated with egg.

Breading — breadcrumbs — Coat the eggy piece in breadcrumbs on all sides, press slightly for better adhesion. Time: 3 min. Guide: The piece is evenly coated in breadcrumbs.

Baking in the oven — Arrange the breaded chicken pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Lightly spray or brush them with oil for a golden crust. Bake in a preheated oven at 190–200°C, turning the nuggets halfway through cooking. Time: 18–22 min. Guide: the coating is golden and crispy, and the meat inside is fully cooked with no pink juices.

Tip Serve hot with your favorite sauce - ketchup, mayonnaise, cranberry sauce, or mustard. You can also make delicious nuggets in a pan, frying them in heated oil until golden on both sides. Ready nuggets can be frozen for future use and baked later without defrosting, increasing the cooking time by 5-10 minutes.
