- The Glen Grant 18 year old begins its journey with an ideal whisky making location in the town of Rothes, in the heart of the Speyside region. With plenty of quality two-row Scottish barley, the distillery was built on the banks of the Black Bjorn, a tributary of the River Spey and a source of pure, mineral-rich water.

- Today the Master Distiller, Dennis Malcolm, acts as trustee for the heritage founder, Major James Grant. He previously followed in his father and grandfather's footsteps and was even born in the distillery, the house in which he still lives today. Dennis Malcolm has overseen every step of The Glen Grant's 18 year old maturation to the outstanding single malt that we enjoy today. 

- The Glen Grant 18 year old undergoes the same consistent production process as all Single Malt The Glen Grant, however we also use maturation in hogshead casks. The 5 bourbon casks are disassembled and rebuilt into a standard Scotch whisky cask called a hogshead.

- The Glen Grant 18 Years Old was voted Best Scotch Whisky in ALL categories in the 2017-2021 Whisky Bible and also received a double gold medal at the 2021 Francisco World Spirits Competition. It also received a perfect score of 100 at the Ascot Awards and was voted 'Best in Class' by Whiskey Advocate Magazine. 

Taste characteristics 

- Full-bodied and floral, with oaky hints and spice notes, with flavours of malted caramel, dried sultanas and vanilla. Long lasting, malty, honeyed, apple-like with soft spice notes.

Gastronomic Compatibility 

- The Glen Grant 18 YO is recommended to be served pure, with the possibility of adding a small amount of still water. If a drop or two of water is added to the whisky it 'opens up', releasing more of the flavours transferred from the cask into the drink.
