  • In the fairy tale "Animal Farm" in allegorical form tells about the times of the USSR. In particular, it is about the revolution of 1917, about the false promises that "land belongs to the peasants and factories to the workers," about dekulakization, forced relocations, repressions, executions, and about millions murdered in Stalin's concentration camps. Only instead of people, the heroes of this story are animals. But are they really different from each other?; "Animal Farm" was written in 1944 and aimed to show Western society the true face of the Soviet Union, which, under the guise of deceptive propaganda and supposedly socialist ideas, actually repressed millions of its own citizens, while seeking to turn the outside world into one big concentration camp according to their own patterns. At a time when Western countries were still captivated by illusions about their Soviet ally, Orwell was not immediately able to find a publisher for the Animal Collective Farm, and the first edition was meager. But subsequent events showed that George Orwell in his diagnosis of the USSR was completely right, and since then, "Animal Farm" has been constantly republished.; Translated from English Yurka Shevchuk; Number of pages: 120; Cover: Hard; Size: 130x200 mm; Paper: cream, 60 gr; Year of publication: 2021
