Calvet Beaujolais AOC Red Dry Wine 13% 0.75l
750 ml
The wine Calvet Beaujolais AOC is light ruby in color. The aromatic bouquet is intense and refined, filled with notes of ripe red fruits and berries. The flavor is soft, clean and fresh, quite light and pleasant, filled with juicy strawberry notes and fruity tones.
The winery, founded by Jean-Marie Calvet in 1818, was first located in the Rhone Valley region. Already in 1823, an additional branch was opened in the center of the city of Bordeaux. Octave Calvet continued to successfully develop the business started by his father. The estate's cellars initially covered a total area of 160 hectares and were expanded three more times. In 1889, one of Octave's sons, Jean Calvet, settled in Burgundy, thus emphasizing the company's commitment to producing high quality wines from grapes grown in the best terroirs of the country. It was Jean who, at the beginning of the 20th century, suggested putting the Calvet seal on the bottles to guarantee the excellent quality of the drinks and make them recognizable. Since 1920, the company's symbol has been the eagle and its corporate color is red (the color of red wine).
Jean Calvet has always taken the process of creating wine very seriously, so from 1930 he financed the work of a special laboratory created by him, which was engaged in scientific research in the field of winemaking. It is from this time that a step-by-step quality control is carried out in all the company's factories.
Calvet Beaujolais - a soft, elegant red wine, which is produced using Gamet grapes from the company's vineyards in the Beaujolais appellation. The grapes are harvested only after they have reached optimum ripeness. At the winery, the grapes are gently pressed followed by a short 4-5 day maceration. Fermentation is carried out in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine has a potential of 2-4 years.
Gastronomic combinations: Goes well with roasted meat, salads, Mediterranean dishes, casseroles, pasta, pizza, kebabs.
