Eduard Andryushchenko KGB Archives Uninvented Stories Book

The documents of the Soviet state security agencies declassified in Ukraine became a real klondike for researchers and journalists. Month after month, year after year, the stories found by Eduard Andryushchenko in archival files turned into articles for Ukrainian and foreign publications. And now they are published under one cover. The heroes of these stories are outstanding artists and cynical killers, agents and Chekists, fugitives and spies. Someone signs absurd confessions, and someone miraculously escapes death. Some plan an assassination attempt on their relatives, while others are sent to camps because of their own talkativeness. Someone leaves daring messages for the KGB, and someone sees the result of his years of labor destroyed. All these episodes give a better understanding of the complex and contradictory life of Ukrainians under Soviet totalitarianism.
