Description
Lutein 40 mg with Zeaxanthin from Puritan's Pride is a highly concentrated complex of natural carotenoids designed to support retinal and lens health. Lutein and zeaxanthin are the only carotenoids that selectively accumulate in the macula (yellow spot) — the central part of the retina responsible for visual acuity and colour perception. Since the body is unable to synthesise these substances on its own, their intake through food or supplements is critical for protecting the eyes from degenerative changes.
The main function of the complex is to create a powerful "optical filter". Lutein and zeaxanthin effectively absorb the most energetic and harmful part of the visible spectrum — blue light emitted by smartphone screens, monitors and LED lamps. This helps reduce visual fatigue, prevents damage to photoreceptors and neutralises free radicals caused by ultraviolet radiation.
