Description
Sunflower is an important honey plant. The flowering period of sunflower lasts 20–70 days. Bees collect pollen and nectar from it. Sunflower honey productivity is 30–40 kg per hectare. A distinctive feature of sunflower nectar is the complete absence or low content (3–4%) of cane sugar.
Sunflower seeds contain many vitamins PP and E. The honey is characterized by a light golden or light amber color. It crystallizes very quickly into a coarse-grained mass. It has a tart taste and a mild aroma of sunflower flowers. Sunflower honey has excellent medicinal properties. It is used to prevent metabolic disorders and as a general tonic.
