Description
A comedy writer believes she’s not destined for true love, but a charming pop singer proves her wrong!
Sally Mills is the writer of *Night Owls*, a late-night comedy show broadcast live every Saturday. Having had her fair share of unhappy relationships, she gave up on finding love long ago — instead, she has chosen casual flings, career success and a good relationship with her stepfather for her happiness in life.
Then Sally’s friend and fellow screenwriter, Danny Horst, starts dating Annabel, a stunning actress who appeared on the show. He becomes one of the many talented yet unremarkable-looking, even comical, men on the show — and in society at large — who start relationships with incredibly beautiful and successful women. To express his dissatisfaction, Sally writes a sketch called ‘Danny Horst’s Rule’, in which he both pokes fun at this phenomenon and emphasises that a woman could hardly be so lucky.
At the same time, Noah Brewster, a star pop singer who, rumour has it, loves dating models, joins the show as a presenter and musical guest for the week. Sally begins to take a shine to the charming man, and whilst working on the sketches, she finds herself wondering whether a spark has flown between them. But this isn’t a romantic comedy; it’s real life. And in real life, a man like him would never date a woman like her... would he?
Number of pages: 400.
