Description
Successful young writer Emily Wilson leaves New York for Bainbridge Island to visit her great-aunt Bee. The girl has gone through a divorce and a creative crisis, so she hopes that outside the metropolis she will be able to master her thoughts and feelings. However, life on the ocean shore is no longer as carefree as it seemed during her childhood vacations. Some of the island's residents seem to be engaged in a silent conspiracy. Emily is fascinated by her new acquaintance Jack, but her grandmother Bee expresses her dissatisfaction with this in every way possible. In addition, the girl finds a strange diary that belonged to a certain Esther Johnson in 1943. Immersed in reading, Emily decides that she must unravel the mysteries of the past, both her own and those of others...
