Darkness is a refuge for evil forces. A video is posted online in which a live girl desperately tries to escape from a grave. This case could be the most terrifying experience for Zoe Bentley, an FBI criminal psychologist. The chilling title of the video is "Experiment number one," hinting that it's just the beginning. Zoe and her partner, special agent Tatum Gray, try to quickly expose the twisted author of the video, but soon another video appears online, and another girl is found dead. Meanwhile, another killer, Rod Glover, doesn't leave Zoe alone. He has been terrorizing her since childhood, and now he crosses a line: he takes a photo with Zoe's sister, who doesn't perceive the stranger's actions as a threat. And as Glover's threats become more real, Zoe finds herself torn between her family and her professional duty.
