<p>J.D. Salinger was an American writer best known for his novel "The Catcher in the Rye" and his reclusive lifestyle. His last work was published in 1965, and he gave his last interview in 1980. The publication and distribution of the book were often attempted to be banned through legal actions due to its liberal use of profanity and descriptions of sexual encounters, which only heightened the desire of every teenager to get their hands on a copy of this book.<br></p>
