Description
Kefir is the most popular of the traditional Ukrainian fermented milk products, although its homeland is considered to be North Ossetia, whose inhabitants were in good health and longevity.
Kefir combines extremely useful lactic acid bacteria, minerals and vitamins. Lactic acid and carbon dioxide stimulate the appetite well, quench thirst, are easily absorbed by the body (90% in 1 hour). The use of kefir improves digestive processes, normalizes blood cholesterol levels and intestinal microflora.
Well-known scientist Ilya Mechnikov recommended consuming kefir at room temperature (slowly, in small sips) before bedtime, as lactic acid bacteria are better absorbed at night. He also determined the daily norm of kefir in the range of 200-400ml.
