John Marrs Passengers Book
In the near future in the United Kingdom, autonomous cars have replaced traditional modes of transportation - a pleasant side effect of progress. One spring morning, eight people get into cars programmed for a specific destination, confident they will safely reach their intended location. However, none of them suspects that once they close the car doors, the vehicle will turn them into captives. Suddenly, the route is redirected in an unknown direction, and a mysterious Hacker informs the Passengers that they will all die shortly. Simultaneously, the kidnapper gains control of social media to broadcast the Passengers' tumultuous reactions to the world. Later, the Hacker announces that viewers can participate in a vote: who will survive, and who is destined to die. In an instant, the tragedy turns into a worldwide bloody competition.
