Copper Dog is the brainchild of Piers Adam, who bought The Craigellachie Hotel in Speyside, Scotland in October 2013. His company, Copper Dog Whisky Limited, has entered into a partnership with Diageo.The name comes from the The Craigellachie Hotel bar and restaurant called The Copper Dog, which refers to the method used by whisky distillers to smuggle a few swigs of the spirit in small copper tubing cut-offs. Keen to leave guests with a lasting impression of his hotel and the beautiful Speyside region, Adam set out to create a whisky for all occassions. The result was a blend of eight Speyside single malts with fruity notes and just a hint of spice. Each bottle bears The Craigellachie Hotel name and the signature of Diageo Master Blender, Stuart Morrison.
