Description
Grimbergen beer
is represented by a variety of styles with Belgian abbey origins.
According to legend, Grimbergen beer was first brewed in 1128 at the Grimbergen Abbey, located near Brussels, Belgium. Since then, the abbey has burned down three times — in 1142, 1566, and 1798 — and has risen from the ashes each time. The stone walls were rebuilt time and again, and the abbey beer recipe was revived. That is why to this day, the motto of Grimbergen beer displayed on its label is "Ardet nec consumitur", which translates from Latin as "Burned but not consumed". Today, it is produced at several production sites in Belgium and France.
Grimbergen Double-ambrée is a top-fermented dark ale with a sweet-and-bitter taste and a light caramel flavor profile.
